We recently took part in a panel discussion ‘How can we work together to accelerate technology adoption to improve health and safety in the workplace?’.
This panel was held as part of the 'Building the world's first Industrial Safetytech Regulatory Sandbox' finale event, celebrating the conclusion of the Industrial Safetytech Regulatory Sandbox.
Hosted by Discovering Safety and Safetytech Accelerator, around 200 delegates from sectors including Government, construction, health and safety, tech, regulators, academia, and media met at Mary Ward House, 7 Tavistock Place, London.
The panel discussion provided a platform for Brendan and the other panellists to share the knowledge, outcomes and new technologies developed over the past eight months in this sandbox, as well as the next steps for implementing and improving this technology across industry. As well as the panel, the event included an exhibition, keynote speeches, project showcases and Q&As.
It was a lively discussion which touched on important topics raised through the sandbox, and promoted debate amongst attendees. What was clear was the collective passion of everybody in the room to make industry a safer and healthier place to work - and the key role technology will play in this.
Throughout this world-first sandbox Machine Eye explored how AI computer vision can mitigate the risk of interaction between people and heavy machinery within industrial environments.
Thank you to everyone who contributed to this innovative programme, from industry partners Heathrow, Balfour Beatty plc, Costain Group PLC, Laing O'Rourke, BAM UK & Ireland, HS2 (High Speed Two) Ltd, Skanska and Colas to the other sandbox participants FYLD, PLINX, HAL Robotics & Eave.
